April family fun

We got a sandbox this year.  The kids have been loving it, especially on warm days.  Who doesn't like making sand castles?

The kids like the sandbox...
a little too much.  :)

Despite all of the busy-ness during April we have still had a lot of fun (but haven't had time write about any of it until now).  The Atlanta History Center did another petting zoo for the kids.  They loved the animals and trying out the different things on the farm. Our poor city kids don't have any normal interactions with these things, so it was a really fun and exiting for them.

So many fun animals.
Both kids liked the pony
Matthias had a fun time trying out the saw with daddy.
Josh is such a nice dad to help the kids enjoy these things.

Emory also put on a little festival for all of the graduate students with kids.  There are actually a few students in Josh's program with kids, so it was a fun evening with friends.  The kids really loved the bouncy castle and Matthias really enjoyed the magician.  I thought both my kids looked so cute with their faces painted.

Enjoying getting his face painted
Love the purple butterfly on her face.
Enjoying the BBQ (i.e., the condiments) at the Grad Students with kids festival.
Spiderman shooting his web.
Matthias is enjoying the magic show with daddy.
