We celebrated Matthias' birthday at preschool on Friday, because he has a summer birthday. Preschool ends in the middle of May, but there are a bunch of birthdays to celebrate between then a now, so we decided to have Matthias' school birthday during Mommy's spring break so that I could come and help him celebrate. It was so fun to see him at school interacting with the kids and his teacher. He requested chocolate cupcakes and milk for snack, so that's what we brought.

He was so happy to wear the "4" ribbon on his sweater and be the leader during the day. He made his birthday cake on their flannel board, answered the questions about the day and weather, and chose a prize out of the sack. He has seen so many kids have their turn and I think had really been looking forward to his turn to celebrate his birthday at school.

All day Friday he was really confused thinking that it really was his birthday, but we've since helped him figure out that he is still three and will have his real birthday in a couple of months.
Happy early birthday to Matthias! I can't believe that he's going to be 4 in 3.5 months!! What a big and cute and happy boy. I love him so much!! Thanks for this cute update!
