Talk Like a Pirate Day

Krispie Kremes gives free donuts if you talk and/or dress like a pirate.  The kids thought this was the best thing ever.  They keep asking when the next free donut day is.  :)

Matthias' Day Off

Matthias had a random day off school right after Lizzy started school.  So he and I spent the day at the zoo.  It was a cool September day and the animals were up and moving around.  We especially loved watching the young lions running around and wrestling with each others.

That afternoon, Matthias selected and helped cook spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.  He's becoming quite the chef.

Matthias' Robot

Last year Matthias determined that he will build a robot and over time he came up with a lot of different qualities that are pretty awesome.  So, Josh and I started to keep track of some of the things his robot will have.

1. The first robot will be a build-a-bot and will have red eyes. I will make 100 robots
2. It will have lights to see at night
3. It will have one eye for the day one eye for the night
4. It will be faster than an airplane
5. It will be made out of rocks, concrete rocks.
6. It can transform into airplane rockets
7. It will be loaded with hot lava and fire. It will shoot out of mouth and shoot him into space
8. My robot is taller than this fence (10 feet) and taller than the earth
9. My robot can go in the water and the air.

Lizzy's First day of Preschool

Lizzy's first day of preschool was at the beginning of September. She was so ready to start school because she had to wait a whole month after Matthias started.  She was excited to meet new friends and her teachers.  We have been so impressed by the loving feel that is present in her school with all of her teachers.

Matthias' First day of Kindergarten

Matthias' first day of school was on August 4th of this year.  He was super excited to go back to school after having 66 days of summer vacation.  We met his teacher, Ms. Cruz, the Friday before school started.  I (Cheryl) was able to walk him into the building and into his classroom on the first day.  You can tell by his smile that he is excited and nervous at the same time.

After dropping off Matthias and Josh at school, Lizzy and I decided to spend time at the park.  She had a great time, looked cute, and missed her brother.

When school was out, Lizzy and I walked over to pick Matthias up.  She had to bring a couple of friends in her "skirt purse."

Matthias loved his first day and was also happy to come home and hang out with mom and Lizzy.

Lizzy has lots of friends at home, including babies, magic ponies, bears, and whatever else she can fit into her arms each day.  She loves to play pretend with them imaging that they are all on a boat and have to stay of the shark infested waters or learning how to play nicely with each other.  It's always fun to hear her imagination at work.  And at the end of the day, she needs each of them surrounding her in bed while she falls asleep.
